Here they come!

Meet Stanley and Lilly, our beautiful Chinese Crested dogs. This is a pedigree toy breed, who are between 11 and 13 inches high.  They can either have a long, full coat (Powderpuff), or various degrees of Hairless (some hair on the head (crest) and tail and boots. Before I got Stanley and Lilly,  I hadn’t really meant to get a small dog, because at heart I was always a large dog breed lover. My first dog was a Doberman followed by another Doberman, followed by a Great Dane.  Following that, four children came along in quick succession, so  there wasn’t much room in the car.  Consequently, we downsized to  whippets about 15 years ago.  A few years later, my daughter decided that she would really like a cat, but as we already owned two whippets, and this breed has quite a high prey drive, this wasn’t really an option. As a compromise, we decided to get a small dog, so it could sit on our laps and after some research, our relationship with the Chinese Crested dog began.. We didn’t stop at one, and after we had welcomed Stanley into our family, eleven years ago, we then got his sister Lilly two years later.. Although they are from different litters, they share the same parents and are both real

characters, – full of fun and energy and have a lot to say for themselves. They are the perfect size for taking away in the campervan, and really enjoy our adventures. The only thing we can’t persuade them to do is go for a paddle in sea.  They hate the water outdoors, and will do anything to avoid a puddle, although funnily enough, they enjoy a bath! I hope you enjoy the pictures.
